Richmond Food Bank

FoodBankDid you know that Richmond has a Food Bank? It’s located at St. Paul’s United Church, 3452 McBean St., contact number is 613-838-5397, then press 3 to leave a message for the Food Bank.

The Food Bank covers the village of Richmond and it’s rural area as well as Munster; a population of about 5000. Currently over 40 families are receiving aid from the food bank and the number continues to grow.

A small $ value grocery card is given to each family to purchase perishables such as milk and eggs, so cash donations are always welcome.
Here is a list of the items the Food Bank is currently low on-
Muffin mix
Cake mix
Crackers
Cookies
Pancake syrup
Mayo
Jam
Puddings and fruit snacks
Tins of fruit
Hamburger Helper
Kraft dinner
Rice
Pancake mix

If you would like to contribute to the Food Bank there are drop-off boxes for non-perishable items at the Richmond Post Office and King’s “Your Independent Grocer”,  5911 Perth St., Richmond.

‘Small size’ packages are preferred. Most of the clients are singles, elderly. We always double up with younger families.

Cheque donations are also welcomed and can be mailed to the Richmond Food Bank at P.O.Box 646, Richmond, ON K0A 2Z0 – charitable donation receipts will be issued by the Food Bank.

The Food Bank is also registered with CanadaHelps.org, under Richmond Food Bank, Richmond Ontario, if anyone wants to send e-Transfers. They will issue thank you letters and tax receipts, then deposit directly into the Food Bank account.
